I talk to Lisa Hay Tarrant, Tim’s sister and she says, Nathan has a skull fracture but is alert and doing okay for now he will be observe for the next 48 hours. Tim has very serious life threatening injuries to the head and face. Last night he was taken into surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. He has fracture some facial bones, plastic surgeon says treating fractures depends on the brain swelling if it goes down and does not swell up anymore. They are waiting for Tim to wake up. –> A 51-year-old East Moline man and his 7-year-old son were airlifted to Peoria after the motorcycle they were riding crashed at 1st Street and Crosstown Avenue in Silvis about 6:15 p.m. Thursday.

The two were riding a 2009 Yamaha north on 1st Street and as the man braked at the intersection with Crosstown Avenue, he apparently lost control of the motorcycle on the wet, slick pavement, according to a Silvis Police Department news release.

The man and his son were transported to Genesis Silvis campus and then airlifted to Peoria for advanced treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Their names have not been released.

The Rock Island County Sheriff’s office is assisting with crash reconstruction.

  1. I’m praying Angie. I went up there last night but left before Tim was out of surgery. I’m going back up there later when the boys get out of practice.
